Offering the dog food, they expected her to eat, but instead, she seemed restless\u2014almost as if she was trying to tell them something. What they discovered was a hidden secret the mama dog had been guarding\u2014a litter of five tiny puppies. Left without food or shelter, the fragile pups were covered in fleas and ticks, their bellies swollen with worms.
