His age led to blindness, deafness, and dementia, altering his once youthful demeanor. Although such changes are expected in an elderly dog, Dennis found it tough to accept that his dear friend was no longer the same.<\/p>\n<p>One day, Dennis returned home from work, and although Piper greeted him as always with his usual excitement and affection, what happened shortly after was deeply upsetting.
