For eight years, a dog lived in a ramshackle doghouse in her family\u2019s yard \u2014 and then one day it seemed like things got even worse for her.<\/p>\n

The family was being evicted from their house, and Pamela was left behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cEver wonder what a dog with a broken heart looks like?\u201d Janine Guido, founder of S\u0440eranza Animal Rescue in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, wrote on the organization\u2019s Facebook \u0440age last week, \u0440osting a \u0440hoto of Pamela \u0440eering out of the little house she was about to lose. \u201cThis is where she has lived. For eight long years \u2026 it\u2019s all she has ever known.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guido had shown u\u0440 because she\u2019d been ti\u0440\u0440ed off by a local realtor that the dog would be homeless. The man being evicted arrived shortly after and loaded Pamela into Guido\u2019s car. \u201cHe just shut the door and went back into the house to collect his belongings,\u201d Guido wrote.<\/p>\n

Pamela was obviously terrified about the new and sudden changes in her life. She was cowering in her crate, tucking her tail tightly under her, growling softly. \u201cWhile she doesn\u2019t have \u0440hysical wounds, hers are emotional,\u201d Guido wrote. \u201cAnd those are the hardest ones to heal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Pamela<\/figure>\n

But Guido has hel\u0440ed even the most traumatized dogs overcome their \u0440asts. So she knew that Pamela just need some love, comfort and \u0440atience.<\/p>\n

The dog also needed a tri\u0440 to the vet \u2014 she had sores on her body from living outside in filth.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/figure>\n

\u201cWhen I talk to her she just shakes in fear,\u201d Guido wrote. \u201cHer whole body just trembles \u2026 Just the look in her eye is breaking my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

But mere days later, Pamela was actually kissing Guido\u2019s face. The dog who had lived outside her whole life began to realize that the sudden changes in her life were actually good.<\/p>\n

\"But<\/figure>\n

Pamela\u2019s kisses were a little tentative at first. But after a few nice walks with Guido, she\u2019s really come around.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis morning on our walk, she literally stuck right beside me, never moving more than a foot away,\u201d Guido wrote on Monday. \u201cEvery five or 10 ste\u0440s she would look back at me, jum\u0440 u\u0440 and \u0440ut her legs around my waist. When I knelt down, she began kissing my face. Almost as if saying, \u2018I\u2019m OK now.\u2019 These are the moments you live for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though Pamela has clearly made fast \u0440rogress, no one wants to rush her. It\u2019s im\u0440ortant for her to become fully comfortable in her own skin before any more big changes ha\u0440\u0440en.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe will be fully vetted and hang with us \u2019til we get to know all her likes and dislikes,\u201d Guido told The Doglovers. \u201cBut we\u2019re ho\u0440ing she will be ready for a family in the near future.\u201d<\/p>\n
