He found a way to stand out and express his desire for companionship.<\/p>\n<p>Mary Kate Hale, the digital media manager for City of Mobile Animal Services, shared with The Dodo, \u201cWhenever someone would walk past his kennel, he would stick out his paw, hoping someone would hold it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whenever a person came near, Lancer would jump up on his hind legs, squeezing as much of himself as possible through the kennel bars, extending his paw in silent appeal for attention.<\/p>\n<p>Lancer passionately longed for a family to love and cherish him. Hale described him as having \u201ca sweet nature and a love for peanut butter.
