The dog, who would later be called Goober, bore an open wound on his back and appeared to be in significant discomfort.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Alone in his crate, all Goober could do was hope for a savior.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, Angela Adan, the founder of Deserving\u00a0a nonprofit rescue organization based in California, happened to arrive at the parking lot. Angela was heartbroken at the scene. \u201cYou could tell that somebody just shoved him in there and left quickly,\u201d Angela shared with The Dodo.<\/p>\n<div id=\"daily-7acfbb8a66324bdbf773af81c23911a9\" class=\"daily-7acfbb8a66324bdbf773af81c23911a9 daily-after-para\"><\/div>\n<p>Without wasting any time, she opened the crate and gently reassured Goober, who willingly accepted her help, sensing her genuine intention.<\/p>\n<p>Angela promptly took Goober to a nearby veterinary clinic for an assessment. The vet found that Goober\u2019s wound was badly infected, and the little dog was suffering from malnutrition. Over time, with the proper care, Goober began healing both physically and emotionally. \u201cIt took months, but finally he started to heal,\u201d Angela recounted.<\/p>\n<p>As his wounds closed and his fur started to regrow, Goober\u2019s cheerful nature also returned.
